This mushroom has dry and smooth cuticle. It has a whitish or pale ocher color with a darker brown area in the center. In young pioppini mushrooms the color is intensely brown. The white flesh and cylindrical stem sometimes slightly attenuated above, 10-14 cm long or more, firm full, fibrillose, white then greyish.
